Guided by Nature, Strengthened by Brotherhood
The Young Explorers (Ages 7–13)
At Bosnian Outdoor Experience, we believe that the first connection with nature forms the foundation of character, curiosity, and respect.
The Young Explorers programme invites children to rediscover what it means to live close to the land — learning through play, exploration, and imagination.
From the first step into the forest to the evenings around the campfire, every moment is designed to awaken awareness, courage, and joy. Connecting with the creator through his creation.
Nature Awareness & Foraging
Children learn to identify safe edible plants, recognise animal tracks, and understand the rhythm of the wild — guided by experienced instructors.

Skills and activities
Fire-Making & Shelter Building
The heart of survival and teamwork. Young participants learn to start a fire safely, build a simple shelter, and understand how you can use nature to provide warmth and protection.
Knots, Navigation & Team Challenges
Through interactive games and challenges, they develop practical skills — map reading, knot tying, and compass orientation — all disguised as adventure.
Horse Riding
Each participant experiences the joy of connecting with one of nature’s most noble creatures. Riding at Malek Farm teaches balance, patience, and gentle communication.
Creative Crafting
Working with natural materials, children make simple forest tools, wooden pendants, spoons or clay art — souvenirs of their own discovery which builds confidence.
The Campfire Circle
As evening falls, stories come alive. Around the fire, instructors share tales of courage, compassion, ethics, leadership and adventure. The Campfire Circle is a sacred space for laughter, learning, and reflection — where family and friendly bonds grow stronger.
It’s a moment of stillness in a noisy world — where every child feels seen, valued, and inspired.

The intitiation 18+ Man only
Brotherhood in the woods
In ancient cultures, there were sacred rituals which were performed when boys become men, and they were allowed to hunt with their tribe. Nowadays adolescences stretches far beyond the age of 18 in most cultures. This is a course designed for man who want to step up their game and learn to survive and transform. This course is designed to make you more resilient and be able to survive in nature, take responsibility and connect with like minded individuals.
Fishing, foraging and bow and arrow shooting
Rainbow trouts, brown trouts, flyfishing, net fishing, spear fishing will be explored depending on the circumstances. Foraging plants, berries, mushrooms is an essential skill to be able to survive and determine species, both edible and poisonous in the wild. Clean, cut, prepare and preserve the things you earned in the wild in a safe hygienic way to enjoy them. Bow and arrow shooting is not the easiest way to hunt, the advantage is however that a bow and arrow are always around in the forest where we can practice this.
Shelter making and tarp setting
One of the most important things in the wild are to be able to make a safe and warm spot to rest, sleep and eat. Shelter can be made from wood branches, leaves and stems. It can be made under ground or a tarp can be used in a variety of ways to protect you from the elements. As a group, as a leader and solo this skillset will keep you warm and energized wherever you end up.
Wild chef
Cooking with a pot on fire, on a hot stone, on branches, smoking. Well prepared foraged herbs and spices will add that bit of extra to almost eat your fingers. Several techniques will be explored to be able to provide a delicious nutritious meal for yourself and others. A skill set making you comfortable in the wild and to also enjoy what you have hunted/fished or foraged is a unique unforgettable moment. With this skill set, you will be comfortable in the wild.
Slaughtering
In every day life a lot of things are being done by others. In the wild to really feed yourself you need to be able to take the life of an animal to survive and thrive. It can be hard at first, with respect and due diligence we take the life of an animal by way of knife slaughtering. After this we will remove the skin, clean and debone the animal by hand in a hygienic way and prepare for a well deserved dinner at the fire place. You will experience and learn a life changing skill.

Primal emergence
Endure the cold with minimal clothing or barefoot, nothing is mandatory. We invite you to unleash the primordial wild in you. Through breathing techniques and mind set we will wash ourselves in waterfalls, walk barefoot, climb, wrestle and truly connect with the environment, our toughness and self confidence will rise so we are able to tackle life’s challenges.
Become comfortable in the uncomfortable
Leadership
As a man in life you have to be able to lead others. Through group assignments we will provide you with the necessary tasks and feedback to do this in a harmonious effective way. Under stress or under pressure the lime gets squeezed and the juice comes out. This is exactly what we intend. Our personality gets formed under pressure and significant events, when this is guided by the experienced instructors you have your backpack filled with leadership skills.
Rescue and survival techniques
To be able to survive with the bare minimum will make you confident in every situation. Keep yourself safe at all times also during the rescue of others. Rope techniques, hypothermia and intoxication will be dealt with during the course. Challenging situations cause less stress when you know what to do. Provide heat, provide basic help with gastric upset or get somebody to safety using ropes or a stretcher.
